AutoExpreso in a rental

Puerto Rico's toll roads are cashless in many places, and the rental company's policy determines how your charges are handled.

Official traffic controls and police directions always take precedence. Live weather, closures, and rental policies can change.

Ask before you leave the lot

Confirm that the vehicle's AutoExpreso arrangement is active and ask exactly how tolls, service fees, and later adjustments appear on your bill. Rental-company policies vary and change.

Use only the arrangement for that car

Enter a signed toll lane only under the rental company's documented setup. Do not assume every rental includes tolls, and do not attach a privately purchased tag without current permission.

At the lane

Follow the posted lane speed and markings, keep a normal following distance, and avoid stopping abruptly under the toll equipment. Retain the rental agreement and final toll statement.
